The Mesquite Mine is located in eastern Imperial County along the southern slope of the Chocolate Mountains in southeastern California. The mine site is bounded on the north by the United States Navy Chocolate Mountains Aerial Gunnery Range and on the south and east by State Highway 78...The mine has been in operation since late 1985, and consists of three open pits, overburden/interburden storage areas (OISAs), seven heap leach pads and other facilities. The three mine pits are: the Big Chief, Vista and Rainbow, with mining currently occurring under existing permits. Past and present operations are described in the Mesquite Mine Consolidated Plan of Operations (POO). Current reserves will be depleted in the year 2000, but additional reserves have been identified outside the current project boundary...The mine has proposed an amendment to the POO to allow expansion of the following existing facilities: extension of the Big Chief Pit; extension of the Rainbow Pit; construction/modification of infrastructure on public land; expansion of heap leach facilities on private land; and, expansion of OISAs...The proposed expansions would allow the mine to continue operating through the year 2006...The proposed expansion is the subject of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and concurrent Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

Technical Report: Inventory of Shale Formations in the US, Including Geologic, Geochemical, Hydrological, Mechanical, and Thermal Characteristics Investigations of Near-Field Thermal-Hydrologic-Mechanical-Chemical Models for Radioactive Waste Disposal in Clay/Shale Rock. Estimating groundwater recharge in arid or semiarid regions can be a difficult and complex task, since it is dependent on a highly variable set of spatial and temporal hydrologic parameters and processes that are dependent on the local climate, the land surface properties, and subsurface characteristics. As a result, traditional methods for estimating the recharge can result in a wide range of Cited by: 2.

Geologic, hydrologic, and supplemental geochemical information will be integrated to determine basin and, if possible, regional ground-water budgets. All geohydrologic data will by synthesized and evaluated to develop a three-dimensional conceptual model of the ground-water flow system in the proposed study . on scientific hydrology and to facilitate contacts between research workers in this field. To this end Unesco has initiated two collections of publications 'Studies and Reports in Hydrology' and 'Technical Pa- pers in Hydrology'. The collection 'Technical Papers in Hydrology' is intended to.

DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL BASELINE STUDIES, PROGRESS REPORT DRAFT conducted according to the approach described in the Draft Environmental Baseline Studies, Proposed Study Plan (NDM, ).
The major scope items of this study in were as follows: • Site visit to view existing rock core. The purpose of this study is to: (1) characterize the hydrogeology and geochemistry of the bedrock and unconsolidated aquifer systems in the vicinity of the Catskill and Delaware aqueducts, (2) delineate the magnitude and extent of influence of the leaking aqueducts on the aquifer systems, (3) determine the source of springs in the vicinity of the aqueducts, and (4) provide data to evaluate the efficacy and.

Doctor, Sarah D. Eagle, Jon. The report presents a hydrogeological and geochemical study of groundwater flow for the Suddagedda basin of Andhra Pradesh. Planning of water resources development projects calls for an understanding and analysis of the hydrological characteristics of the region.
The hydrogeology and geochemistry of the basin needs to be investigated particularly for a groundwater resources development project.
